How Root 5 is utilizing GenAI……..
Yes yes, we know everyone is talking about AI but most of the talk we see is about its potential and less about genuine use cases, in which AI is making positive effects to certain workflows.
At Root 5, we are fully embracing GenAI and trying different ways to utilize the technology for the betterment of our clients and broader network. Below is a use case in which we have fully integrated GenAI into a search process and it is adding great value.
A couple of weeks back, we were retained by an awesome start-up in the Cloud Security space who are embarking on a journey of growth, both from a personnel and a product perspective. They have come to Root 5 to help them hire an engineering lead who can build the product for scale and start the journey of building an engineering team.
The challenge for this search is that we are recruiting a skill set that is a little out of the comfort zone of everyone in the search. The founders are brilliant and extremely technical in their own right, but they are not software developers and I as a recruiter, have some knowledge, but I am no expert in technically assessing these candidates.
Enter ChatGPT4………………..
We have used the following steps to add significant value to the process:
1. Used GenAI to develop a set of technical questions based on the Tech Stack our customer is using.
2. Used those questions to conduct technical screening calls with the candidates.
3. Recorded the screening calls and exported the transcripts.
4. Used GenAI to analyze the transcripts and to generate a short report and a score out of 10 on the candidate’s performance.
5. Shared these reports along with the candidate’s CV for our customer to review.
This process has enabled a non-technical recruiter (me) to accurately screen a software developer on a specific tech stack and genuinely save my customer time.
I hope this can inspire others to embrace GenAI to improve their ability to deliver quality work. It truly is game-changing, and we should all be adopting it.
If you would like a closer look at how we did this exactly, please reach out and I would be more than happy to share.
